Visit Lizio and its insectarium in Morbihan
A pretty village with the ” Petite Cité de Caractère ” label, Lizio is a Morbihan destination not to be missed. Surrounded by a typical 17th-century church, the village is made up of old granite mansions adorned with hydrangeas and discreetly adorned with sculpted fountains, dormer windows, niches and cornices, testifying to the prosperity of Lizio‘s weavers in the 17th and 18th centuries. An interpretation trail allows you to discover the built heritage of the commune: its remarkable houses, its fountains, its wash house, its Templar chapel, its crosses and its bread ovens. Lizio has a number of attractions not to be missed: the Ecomuseum of Old Crafts, the Breton Quarry Museum, the Insectarium and the Universe of the Poète Ferrailleur.
The town’s exterior is dotted with botanical trails and footpaths, making for great family walks through the woods and Breton countryside, discovering a rich and varied flora and fauna.

Another unusual and not-to-be-missed site, theUnivers du Poète Ferrailleur, is an enchanting place that fascinates visitors of all ages: populated by fabulous and poetic machines, the site offers a strollthrough an offbeat world where enchanting architectural huts, mysterious gears and touching characters come to life. Created by Robert Coudray, these animated sculptures and picturesque houses can be discovered during a free visit lasting approximately 2 hours. A café-library and a restaurant also await you on site.
